Pownal, VT

School house from the outside and inside.

Scary dolls. Carole, see the large one in the middle, the one with a big head on shoulders, does it remind you someone?

A couple views inside the auto "Oasis".

Spent the afternoon in Bennington. Went to the museum which was much better than I anticipated. My first thought was 'oh not another museum' but it had some unique things. The best was the Grandma Moses exhibit. Lots of her artwork, artifacts and the one-room school house that she attended as a child. It also had a bunch of other artifacts including medical items (an early 1900's artificial arm), dental tools, musical instruments and a room of glass ware. We also visited Hemmings Motor News Car Lover's Oasis, a full-service gas station that houses memorabilia related to autos and repair work. Again a great place that had lots of items that we both remembered such as sleds, bikes and various car repair items. We walked around town to view the moose that were decorated by local businesses and will be auctioned off.
