Pownal, VT

Funny sign & swim area for kids.

We are in New England again :o) Arrived at the Pine Hollow Campground which is out in the boonies. George (our GPS) took us on a really back road that ended up being closed. We had to turn around, with trailer, and go back the way we came. I found it quite humorous but someone else was a bit harried by the entire episode. It is a lovely place with a little spring fed pond with a fountain in the center. We are less than 10 miles from Bennington and will be here for two days. Creeping ever closer to home. Today was cloudy with off and on showers through mountains. The trees are a bit more colorful but very muted. Raining tonight.

Harpursville, NY

Office & view to Rte 7.

Still in NY, one more night then we'll be in New England. Still lots of wild flowers, less farm land and more dairy farms. Travelled through mountains again, elevation of 2110 was the highest point. Followed a river and saw an eagle bathing or eating and many blue herons. We are staying at Belden Hill Campground. It has been cloudy with peeks of sun and then rain when we got here. Supposed to clear over night and be nice over the weekend.

Jamestown, NY

Funny planter :-)

Another day another campground. We are at Hidden Valley Camping Area. It is hidden, well off the beaten path but quite lovely and very quiet. We will stay here for two days and probably another couple of days in NY at another place. Uneventful drive. A few more inclines and lots of trees. Fields upon fields of goldenrod and Queen Anne's Lace with other wild flowers. The trees are just starting to change color. Have started to turn things back on at the house, we should be home next week.

Bellevue, Ohio

An add on picture of the Grosse Pointe Farms park. It includes a beach, we had to at least get our feet wet. It is the Detroit River which is huge like Sebago and carries barges up and down.

Well we don't weigh 500 pounds so I guess we got out of MI in time :o) We made our way to Ohio today. It was an easy drive. The trailer was happy to be back on the road rather than in the church parking lot. Nothing exciting to report. We did some grocery shopping, enough to get us home we think. Thunder storms here in Ohio. The Lazy J Campground is quite pretty. Grass lots and trees. Very quiet, everybody has gone back to school/work.

Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Presidential car from Kennedy era. Rosa Parks bus.

Cars and guitars display. They belonged to various rock stars.

I became a "hot dog" by the wiener mobile. Owen and Sara going for a ride.

Went to the Henry Ford Museum today. It is a favorite place here in the Detroit area. It is actually in Dearborn. Today it was packed because it was free admission. It was the last day of the Cars and Guitars show. We went to an IMAX movie, stopped at the brew pub on the way home. Sara cooked another great meal. Time to move on or we will weigh 500 pounds :o)

Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Today we went to arts, beats and eats in Pontiac. It was another street fair type event. Many food booths, entertainment (beyond people watching), and artists selling various items. From there we went to the brew pub and then to a WNBA game. It was the Detroit Shock vs the Chicago Sky. Great game and Detroit won. Fun day in great weather, warm sunny with no humidity.
