We are now in MS. An uneventful drive today on interstate highway 40 with farm land and trees the entire way. We crossed the same rivers a couple of times in a few miles. Many small rivers that look nothing like Maines, these are all brown and rather gross looking. Most of the spring flowers have gone by, corn is up around 18 inches. Hot and humid all day a few showers this evening. We are staying at Yogi Jellystone Park in Horn Lake, MS. Our lot is close to a pond and we are being serenaded by what we think might be frogs. It's a perfectly delightful evening even with the showers.
As promised here are a couple of pictures from yesterday. We went to Belle Meade-first two pictures, The Hermitage, next two pictures, and then to Always Patsy Cline. Very busy day.
Hope to go into Memphis tomorrow, not sure if we will go downtown or to Graceland. Horn Lake is just a few miles from Graceland and pretty close to Memphis. We'll decide tomorrow.

Goodlettsville, TN

Getting ready to move to Yogi Jellystone Park in Mississippi. It is just below Memphis--about 10 minutes from Graceland. We will stay until Tuesday. Will post pictures later today.

Going to Cracker Barrell-Yippee

All right ! She's gonna take me out for breakfast at Cracker barrell,

In the meantime a few more pics..

Goodlettsville, TN

No posting yesterday. We were off to Nashville most of the day and the office closed early for a BBQ and concert so access was shut off earlier than usual.
Today we are heading off to Belle Meade, a two-story Federal farmhouse built in 1820. It was a horse breeding farm. We also have tickets to see a show this evening. It is a very busy day for us so might not post again until tomorrow.
We toured the Grand Ol Opry yesterday. Very beautiful place, many of the pictures were too dark to save but we have a few of the dressing rooms. Pews are used for seating and all of the walls were created with aucoustics in mind. Every seat has the same sound quality. A museum is next door, just jam packed with memorabilia.
We then went downtown to see the original Opry. We will be there tonight for our Patsy Cline show. Downtown is pedestrian friendly and very clean. We saw the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. Walked down Broadway, lots of bars but had Ernest Tubbs record store.
Weather still warm, sunny yesterday but cloudy today with showers possible. We'll be off to Memphis tomorrow morning but will actually stay in Mississippi. Hope all is well in your world.

Nashville park pics

A few pics taken before we lost access...to post them..

Rv Park Hours

Hi all, It seems that this rv park limits its Wi-Fi access hours to office hours..as after Jo-ann uses the computer I usually log on in the evening after dinner, well we went for a walk around the park last night, and when we got back we didn't have any more access, it was around 8 central ,9eastern time, I tried everything finally gave up and lo and behold right at the crack of 8Am. It connects again, this is something to ask in the future of other parks we visit..

Goodlettsville,TN

We are back on line! Just north of Nashville. Beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and temps upper 70's low 80's. Uneventful trip to our newest destination. The mountains are starting to give way to flat (er) roads. Drivers definitely don't know how to enter a highway. Just point the car and enter the highway expecting there will be nobody in the way. When they notice you they still don't speed up--think deer in the headlights. We know that is a given and plan for it :-)
Still no pictures. Haven't been anywhere special. We are staying in Nashville Country RV Park. A small family run place.
We can set up and take down quickly and efficiently. We know what will "fly" around the camper when on the road. Still can't convince the kleenex to stay any where but on the floor when in route. Might just put them there to start with since they always end up there.
We hope to go into Nashville tomorrow. Debating a tour or a do it ourself trip. We'll let you know tomorrow.
Remember we are now in the Central (Mal--it's 5/4 central time right now) zone.

Crossville, TN

Long day on the road yesterday. The good news is we got an extra hour in the day. We are now in the Central time zone. We are at a campground/rv resort that caters to adults. Very new and pretty. They had that huge storm go through the area last week and it wiped out their internet access so we are posting from an internet cafe. We do have cable tv at the resort but no internet so this will be the only post until we move on tomorrow.
Today will be a rest day. Time to do laundry and just kick back a bit.
A very chilly start to the day. It was in the 30's overnight, the furnace ran quite a bit overnight. It is warming up quite nicely and is supposed to continue to warm up this week.
Will head toward Nashville tomorrow. Grand Ole Opry here we come! We'll see y'all there ;-)

Natural Bridge, VA day 4

It cleared off this afternoon so we went off to the Virginia Safari Park. What an adventure. You drive through the park with animals running loose. They are all over the place and you have to keep stopping so that you don't run them over. While stopped another would "sneak" up to the window and scare you. All we did was laugh at these foolish animals. We had a couple bang their head on our mirrors. Many llamas, deer, bison, pot-bellied pigs, camels, emus, & ostrich. The pictures are a hoot and don't do the day justice.
There was also a walk around part of the park. There were two tigers but we were both so fascinated with them that we didn't get any pictures.
There was a little tourist attraction along the road that really cracked me up. It is unique to say the least. It was called "Foam Henge". It was free and visible from the road so we just had to stop and take a picture to share with everyone.
Off to Tennessee tomorrow morning.

Natural Bridge, VA day 4

Big thunder storm last night and then some rain again this morning. The James River is really raging today. It has risen quite a bit since this morning so thought I would share a couple of pictures with everybody.
We were able to walk around the sign when we arrived. Last night people were fishing along the tree line, by the little saplings. There is grass under all the water and a line of small bushes. You could see where the people were fishing this morning around 8 it is now 1 pm. If you look around the trees you can see how swift the water is running. There has been trees and other debris floating down river all morning.
